Like many who hold the values of unity and equality among all races and genders, common decency in how we treat one another, optimism about a good and kind world, an open mind on economic policy and development, environmental responsibility and awareness, faith and love over fear and division as a guiding principle, and the progressive forward nature of life, I am personally dealing with coming to terms with the contrary demonstrated character and ideals that have been represented to this point by the president elect.
However, I have learned that at the core life is always supporting our survival on a larger scale by allowing our collective choices and consequences to work to raise our awareness. As awareness expands,Read More
It may be time for our idea of time to change. Time is our most precious resource, yet each year, we seem to have less and less of it as our lives get busier and busier. Every day, we have a new set of tasks to complete and there are now so many distractions, and there is so much information coming at us on a daily basis, it’s no wonder we have lost that precious state of just enjoying the moment. A whole world of people now have their heads buried in their cell phones for most of the waking day and more than they’d like to admit during the wake-filled night. We have become digital information junkies. The result is a stressed-out, energy-drained state of mind, body and spirit. As a result, we have lost a big sense of peace and contentment with ourselves and the world around us. What if you looked at time not from the perspective of time being limited but rather from the perspective of time being unlimited? What if you came to realize that your experience of time and how things all come together for you are actually rooted in how you interpret yourself and the world? Millions across the globe fight stress every day. The toll on the physical and mental health of those affected is impossible to calculate. While the world has found different ways to cope, many of these ways have a harsh backside to them. Alcohol, prescription drugs, and illegal drugs are just some the ways in which those affected by a daily build up of stress seek a release from it. These coping methods only further complicate the issue as these methods, while they tend to provide a temporary relief or distraction from the current negative state of mind, end up causing much more detrimental problems that eventually have to be dealt with at some later time. There is, however, a very powerful solution. The best way to manage stress is to change the way you interpret and respond to your world. The process involves embracing an understanding of mind that harmonizes so much with life that it eliminates the conflict that causes stress in the first place. This is a powerful shift in awareness and it provides a new enriched way of living life each day. All stress is based on a negative interpretation of yourself or the circumstances you face in your world. It is generated by the friction created between what you believe to be true as it clashes with what you are experiencing or interpreting in your world moment to moment. It is based on the meaning you are giving to each situation. When this meaning includes a threat to your life or way of existing in some way shape or form, stress is the result. The way of interpreting your world that eliminates this friction is the way in which you see all things not as happening TO you but rather you see that they are actually happening FOR you in some way. This puts your mind in less conflict and hence less stress is the result. You end up in more of an aware curious mood where you are looking for the nuggets of wisdom or insight that the particular circumstance is bringing you. You are no longer letting fear rule your mind but are adopting a more balanced approach that is based on a new faith in life and its way of presenting new information and awareness. You are trusting life. Is it possible to live nearly stress free? Yes, but it takes a true willingness to see the world in a new light. Like any new change there is a process to adopting this new attitude. You must really want to embrace the information that will change you! However, with a strong will for different experience and an open mind towards new ways of dealing with life, what you really need and desire will show up. (Hint, it’s happening right now…) A new stress-free and peaceful way of experiencing the inevitable challenges and ups and downs on your everyday journey is upon you! Being the most powerful and effective person you can be in your day-to-day life is the result of being in the most balanced state of mind possible at all times. Therefore, your state of mind is truly the essence of your life. Learning to manage your state of mind from a more peaceful, grounded and clear perspective is the pathway to balance and harmony. Below are 10 keys thoughts and ideas to help put you in this confident and liberating place of awareness. 1. Take a moment each day for perspective and gratitude. Perspective is a key to life. Taking a moment of remembrance each day for all you DO HAVE in your life can immediately put you in a powerful and balanced mindset of confidence and abundance rather than fear and lack. Make this a daily practice. 2. Accept the perfection of your past Non-acceptance is what keeps you stuck in time. When you are stuck in time you are not creative or powerful. The truth is that every moment of your life has had meaning and purpose for you on your journey. The self-evident truth is you have always done the best you could have in any of your past moments. Liberating yourself from the past by accepting it allows you to be in the powerful and creative present moment. 3. Pay Attention to what is always right In front of you. Your universe is always serving you! When you open to this truth you start to really look at what you have presented yourself and how it relates to the exact, deep and sincere questions you have asked about life. Presence of mind is what reveals all you truly desire to know about your life. Can you see what you have brought yourself right here, right now in these words! 4. Stop resisting “what is” You cannot change what already “is” but you can finally accept “what is” and effectively work from this truth to create new conditions and a new experience for tomorrow. Your resistance is part of the force that is keeping what you don’t want to experience a part of your current reality. 5. Become aware of negative energy in your life The news, your friends, your family or strangers will, at one time or another, attempt to present you with negativity. Do not be fooled into becoming affected by this energy. Drama can bring you down and suppress your powerful creativity. Always choose LOVE. Have the strength to stay positive and loving no matter who or what attempts to change you or convince you otherwise. Love and positivity are the most effective and magical ways of creating a fulfilling life. 6. Take the time to discover and use the great creative power within You create You in each moment of your deepest thoughts. Realizing this can put you on a path of conscious, meaningful creation rather than subconscious, uncreative actions and reactions. The power in you (I AM) is what drives every aspect of your life. Self-awareness is KEY to this discovery and understanding (see more here www.thebookIAM.com ). 7. Choose Understanding over Judgment, compassion over contempt Give others the space of understanding that comes from the truth that until you have walked in another’s shoes you cannot truly know why. Judgment divides and builds walls. Understanding unites and builds bridges. Everyone is doing the best they can in every moment. Compassion stems from a place where you realize that no one can do anything to you. What they are presenting you with is always a wonderful opportunity to demonstrate...Read More
