New Blog on Huffington Post about Mastering Time!

It may be time for our idea of time to change. Time is our most precious resource, yet each year, we seem to have less and less of it as our lives get busier and busier. Every day, we have a new set of tasks to complete and there are now so many distractions, and there is so much information coming at us on a daily basis, it’s no wonder we have lost that precious state of just enjoying the moment. A whole world of people now have their heads buried in their cell phones for most of the waking day and more than they’d like to admit during the wake-filled night. We have become digital information junkies. The result is a stressed-out, energy-drained state of mind, body and spirit. As a result, we have lost a big sense of peace and contentment with ourselves and the world around us. What if you looked at time not from the perspective of time being limited but rather from the perspective of time being unlimited? What if you came to realize that your experience of time and how things all come together for you are actually rooted in how you interpret yourself and the world? How Bad Do You Really Want It?

How Bad Do You Really Want It?

Life can be an interesting game of pretend. What I mean by this is that many often go through life asking a lot of questions about the circumstances they face each day. Millions of questions are asked every day around the globe about life. Why is this happening to me? Why don’t I have this yet? What am I supposed to do to be happy? How do I achieve these my true desires and dreams? What is the reason I am here? The questioning goes on and on, over and over again. The fascinating part of this process is the part that has to do with the answers. This is where human beings reveal the truth about what the really want or are ready to experience. This is where the rubber really meets the road so to speak. Questioning comes in many forms. They take shape in prayer, meditation, and out of desperate yearning, however, only a tiny, tiny fraction of those asking questions are really ready for the answers. The simple reason is fear and the perceived pain of change. Ironically, humans are masters at denying change and tolerating pain. The way this works is by way of the many different tricks of the mind that are used to protect what has been believed as true. Here are a few; Delusion, denial and rationalizing. The unwilling and fearful mind will do just about anything to avoid new much more mepowering truth and the change that will come with it. Masters of “time” are we. “Where do I find these answers?” is often what one will scream in a last ditch effort to make an excuse for themselves and avoid the information. Do you really want to know? Because if you are ready, you will be answered. The answers you are looking for are always right here and right now. Yes it’s in these words and it’s in this moment. Do you believe it? Can you see it? Or, do you think this is just a trick or meaningless words? Will you even rationalize away this sacred moment right now? For just a second can you contemplate that you constructed this moment just for you? You constructed it to hear these words in this form at this time in order to expand a part of your general awareness. For just a moment can you see the divine elegance of a self-fulfilling eternally supportive universe? Can you see that what you ask for is as close to you as your next breath? If you can’t, if you don’t or if you won’t, it’s okay. When you are ready it will all be here just like it always has been since the day you asked your first question of mind. The universe is forever patient on you and your true moment of readiness. To receive all that you say you are truly searching to answers for, you have to really want it more than anything else, even if it means giving up everything you believed to be true. The reward for this level of faith, however, is a truth everlasting. Never stop questioning… Howard Falco is a spiritual teacher and author of a powerful new book on self-awareness titled, “I AM: The Power of Discovering Who You Really Are (Tarcher/Penguin) www.thebookIAM.com He teaches and speaks on the power of the mind and the creation of personal reality. The Value of Suffering

The Value of Suffering

Why do we suffer? This has to be one of the more frequently asked of the larger questions about life. Millions across the globe fall peril to daily suffering that often seems senseless. There is hardly a soul alive today that has not faced some form of either physical or mental suffering along the road of life. So where is the redemptive value in this pain? Since life is a never-ending process of the expansion of awareness, the direction this expansion takes is based on our intents and desires. There is a certain process of gaining the knowledge necessary to achieve these creative desires. Suffering is simply one part of this process. These desires could be as simple as wanted to eat and stay sheltered or as more complex as building a large business or sharing your creativity with the world, either way there is a process to accomplish these ideas. When information hits your senses that is not in line with what you believe is true about yourself, you suffer because of it. For example if you believe your particular job is the only way you can provide for yourself and you lose the job, your suffering will be a result of a mind that says I will not be able to provide for myself. However, if your belief is that you will always be able to provide for yourself and you lose your job, you may not suffer at all but actually may become excited about the new opportunities that may unfold for you. The suffering in this case is to represent to you that what you believe about how you provide is NOT true. The previous example can be used for any circumstance including the loss of a loved one, physical illness, financial concern, family troubles, relationship issues etc. The point being offered is that the value in the suffering is in the underlying message it is sending you regarding what you believe to be true. Suffering is telling you that the belief you hold that causes the suffering is NOT THE ULTIMATE TRUTH ABOUT WHO YOU ARE. There is a greater truth that is waiting to be embraced and when it is embraced suffering dissolves and peace and tranquility are yours to be experienced. This is not presented due to a lack of empathy or compassion for what anyone is going through in the world today. It is just the opposite. It is out off the greatest empathy, compassion and love that this information is offered as the way to experience the greatest amount of joy, peace and creative fulfillment along the journey of life. Suffering births questions. It is these questions that lead you to more of the answers you are truly looking for as you continue on your creative path. Suffering is simply a more pronounced way that the universe nudges you towards the great gift of self-reelection and self-awareness that allows you to experience more of the grandeur, magnificence and possibility of who you really are. The more you can see this the less you will suffer as you will see that life is always working with you and your deepest of desires. The Essence of Gratitude

Posted on Jul 25, 2011

The Essence of Gratitude

Gratitude is a word that has been used a lot lately in teachings offering the “spiritual” path to others. It is especially offered as a concept to those looking to manifest more in their lives. The standard line is something of the order of “You just need to practice being grateful for everything you do have in your life”. Now, while it is true that a shift in perspective from an ungrateful state of mind to a more grateful state of mind helps one to temporarily feel more at peace, it is also true that any concept offered without the root understanding of the concept is likely to be misunderstood, misused, and lead to eventual frustration. Gratitude is not a practice, it is an understanding. As a practice it is forced, as an understanding it flows. Therefore, it is always the deeper nature of self-discovery and self-inquiry that leads to a deeper and more expansive self-love that results in gratitude. This is a love that comes from the understanding that right now You are the perfection of all your past perfect choices, thoughts and actions. If you hadn’t made all those past choices you wouldn’t be on the path you’re on now coming to the amazing understanding that you are leading yourself towards each and every day. You would be delaying your evolution rather than expanding and evolving, asking questions, receiving answers and transforming into more of a peaceful, conscious creator of your life and a powerful master of your reality. True gratitude comes from the realization that every situation in every moment, as much as it can seem against you, is always and forever FOR You. For example, in this moment, who else could these words be for? How you choose to respond, react and feel, based on what you desire to create and experience in this lifetime is your “free will”.  You are the infinite and priceless observer and creator of life, and everything you can see, feel, touch, smell and hear is here to support you in your creative effort. When you see all persons, places and things in your daily walk as the tangible matter that gives your life its meaning and growth, your judgments will disappear and the gratitude and love you have for all of it will know no boundaries. This is the gratitude that sees all as perfection, feels itself as part of the perfection and manifests from the unlimited and unrestricted nature of this perfection. From this state of grace the great mirror that is the Universe has no choice but to respond in kind… With endless love & gratitude, Howard Howard Falco, is the author of a powerful new book on self-awareness titled “I AM: The Power of Discovering Who You Really Are (Tarcher/Penguin) http://www.thebookIAM.com He is a spiritual teacher and speaker on the unlimited creative power of the mind and the creation of personal reality. Why It all happens for You…

Posted on Mar 15, 2009

How many times in your life have you asked or wondered as it pertains to negative events or trying situations, “Why is this happening to me?” These are the seemingly random or unfortunate developments that suddenly disrupt your specific expectations in life. These situations that abruptly cause life to change in an undesired way are often resisted at first through anger or even denial. This resistance will go on until the overwhelming nature of the reality is too much to ignore, allowing the process of acceptance to begin to set in. Acceptance can lead to sadness or even a sense of despondency as the current undesired truth is realized. Rationalizations then quickly form in an attempt to make sense of it all. Often they are ones such as, “I am so unlucky” or “I never get a break” or “These things always happen to me”. Gaining a greater understanding of the reason why all things happens to you can be the one of the most empowering and liberating realizations you can come to understand in your life. In this elegant universe nothing is random. All events, people, places and things that you encounter have a specific meaning for YOU on your journey of life. The challenge or situation you sometimes find yourself in at any given moment is always related to what you have asked to ultimately experience in your world. You may not realize this at the time it occurs but yet its purpose will some day or some moment be revealed. You may have even heard the saying before, “Be careful what you wish for”. The process of receiving this vital and life changing awareness can only come through the experience of life itself. Therefore, trying and challenging times with your finances, family, relationships, career and personal struggles all have a purpose within them. They each reveal the gap between what you desire to experience and the truth of where you are and what you yet need to learn along your personal creation process. The main point is that the universe is always here to serve you. It can only respond to what you say you truly want when you emit a true earnest desire. The universe’s love for you is unconditional. You may not be initially happy with the truth of the path you need to take and the learning experiences that need to be worked through, but you can rest assured that it is all perfect for you and your desired, expanding and creative journey of life. Each moment is elegantly scripted, developed and directed by the amazing You, including this one right here right now. The more you realize this, the more your resistance to certain things in your world turns to acceptance, your contempt to compassion, your judgment to understanding and your anger to love. When this newfound faith is embraced, you become graced with more of the infinite power over time to consciously create and experience life exactly as you desire. Before this, the process of time will simply go on….
